The 1966 Pontiac Ventura was a model produced by the Pontiac division of General Motors. It was part of the larger Pontiac Catalina line and was positioned as a higher trim level, offering more features and a sportier appearance. The Ventura was introduced as a special package for the Catalina series in 1960, and it became a standalone model in 1961.

Here are some key features and details about the 1966 Pontiac Ventura:

Body Styles: The Ventura was available in various body styles, including a 2-door hardtop, 4-door hardtop, and a convertible.

Performance: The Ventura was known for its performance-oriented options. It could be equipped with a range of V8 engines. The engines were mated to a variety of transmissions, including manual and automatic.

Styling: Like many cars of the era, the 1966 Pontiac Ventura featured distinctive styling elements. It had a wide split grille, stacked headlights, and sculpted lines along the body. The interior was designed for comfort and featured a variety of options and trims.

Interior: The interior of the Ventura was designed with comfort and style in mind. Depending on the trim level and options chosen, the car could feature luxurious materials or a more sporty feel depending on the owners choice

Special Editions: Pontiac offered various special editions and performance packages for the Ventura. These could include upgrades like special badging, performance suspension, and additional power options.

Popularity: The Ventura was well-received during its production years, appealing to buyers looking for a balance of performance and style. However, its production numbers were relatively modest compared to some other models of the time.

It's worth noting that Pontiac, as a brand, was known for its emphasis on performance and styling, and the Ventura was no exception. The 1966 model year was part of a period often referred to as the "muscle car era," and Pontiac contributed to this trend with powerful engines and sporty designs.
